HELP Committee Hearing Update: Support for 340B Hospitals and Other Providers Continues

Members of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee expressed support for 340B hospitals and other providers during a June 19 hearing on Capitol Hill, the committee’s third this year. Senators debated ways in which the program could be strengthened but the hearing ended with no indication that the committee plans to draft or act on 340B legislation anytime soon.

340B Health Confirms Two Additional Days Added to 340B July Registration Dates

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has confirmed to 340B Health that Tuesday, July 17 will be the final day during the third calendar quarter for hospitals and other eligible providers to register to participate in the 340B program starting October 1. This is due to the Independence Day federal holiday and July 15 falling on a Sunday.

• Audit reviews are increasing in frequency and review depth.
• Auditors are focusing on CEs’ detailed internal track record of self-audits and compliance testing, and specific use of 340B savings.
